Vomena-PD 4mg per dose (oral drops/solution)

Indication

Vomena-PD (Ondansetron 4 mg oral drops) is a serotonin (5-HT3) receptor antagonist used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting in children and adults, including nausea/vomiting associated with surgery, chemotherapy, and acute gastroenteritis.

Ingredients

• Ondansetron 4 mg/5 mL oral drops

Direction

Dose by body weight. Children: typically 0.15 mg/kg per dose, maximum 4 mg per dose, given as directed by a physician. Administer directly into the mouth using the dropper. May be mixed with juice if needed.

Side effects

• Headache.
• Constipation.
• Flushing
• dizziness.
• QT prolongation (rare).
• Serotonin syndrome (rare — when combined with other serotonergic drugs).

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ondansetron or other 5
• HT3 antagonists.
• May prolong QT interval — avoid in patients with congenital long QT syndrome or electrolyte disturbances.
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
• Drug interactions: apomorphine (contraindicated — risk of hypotension).
• Keep out of reach of children.
