Indication
Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo is used to treat dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp caused by the yeast Malassezia. It reduces flaking, scaling, and itching associated with these conditions.
Ingredients
- Ketoconazole 2%
Direction
Adults: Apply to wet hair, lather, leave on for 3–5 minutes, then rinse. For dandruff: use twice weekly for 2–4 weeks, then once weekly or every 2 weeks for maintenance. For seborrhoeic dermatitis: use twice weekly for 4 weeks.
Side effects
- Skin irritation
- burning
- or stinging on application.
- Dryness or oiliness of the hair and scalp.
- Rare: allergic reactions including rash or urticaria.
- Rare: hair texture changes or hair loss.
Precautions
- For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes
- if contact occurs
- rinse thoroughly with water.
- Do not use on broken or inflamed scalp without medical advice.
- Rare cases of hypersensitivity (rash
- urticaria) have been reported
- discontinue if this occurs.
- Not for use in children under 12 years without medical advice.
- Consult a doctor if condition worsens or does not improve after 4 weeks.
