Felxicam 20mg

Indication

Felxicam (Piroxicam 20 mg) is an NSAID used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and other musculoskeletal disorders. It provides relief of pain and inflammation.

Ingredients

• Piroxicam 20 mg

Direction

Adults: 20 mg once daily orally. Take with food or milk to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Do not exceed 20 mg per day. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal: nausea
• dyspepsia
• abdominal pain
• diarrhoea
• peptic ulceration
• bleeding.
• Oedema and fluid retention.
• Dizziness
• headache.
• Skin rash
• pruritus.
• Rare: serious skin reactions (Stevens
• Johnson syndrome).
• Elevated liver enzymes.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer or history of gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Contraindicated in severe renal
• hepatic
• or cardiac impairment.
• Avoid in patients with hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or aspirin.
• Not recommended in the third trimester of pregnancy.
• Concomitant use with anticoagulants
• other NSAIDs
• or corticosteroids increases bleeding risk.
• Monitor renal function with prolonged use.
• Use with caution in the elderly.
