Indication
Appetine Vitamine Sirop is an appetite stimulant and vitamin supplement used in children and adults with poor appetite, weight loss, nutritional deficiencies, or during convalescence. Cyproheptadine acts as an appetite stimulant via antihistaminic and antiserotonergic effects.
Ingredients
- Cyproheptadine HCl 2 mg per 5 ml
- L
- Lysine HCl 150 mg per 5 ml
- Thiamine (Vitamin B1) 5 mg per 5 ml
- Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) 5 mg per 5 ml
- Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3) 10 mg per 5 ml
- Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) 1.5 mcg per 5 ml
- Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) 1 mg per 5 ml
Direction
Children 2–6 years: 2.5 ml twice daily. Children 6–12 years: 5 ml twice daily. Adults: 5–10 ml twice or three times daily before meals. Shake well before use.
Side effects
- Drowsiness
- sedation (especially with cyproheptadine).
- Dry mouth
- dizziness.
- Increased appetite and weight gain (intended effect).
- Nausea or stomach discomfort.
Precautions
- Cyproheptadine may cause drowsiness — avoid activities requiring alertness.
- Contraindicated in newborns and premature infants.
- Contraindicated with MAO inhibitors.
- Use with caution in patients with asthma
- glaucoma

- or urinary retention.
- Not recommended in children under 2 years without medical supervision.
- Avoid alcohol.
