Indication
Sulbutis Inhaler (Salbutamol 100 mcg) is a short-acting beta-2 adrenoceptor agonist (SABA) bronchodilator used for the relief and prevention of bronchospasm in patients with reversible obstructive airway diseases including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Ingredients
- Salbutamol (Albuterol) 100 mcg per actuation
Direction
Adults and children over 5 years (reliever): 1–2 puffs (100–200 mcg) as needed for acute symptoms. For prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm: 2 puffs 15–30 minutes before exercise. Maximum: 8 puffs per day. Shake well before use. Use with a spacer if available.
Side effects
- Tremor
- palpitations
- tachycardia.
- Headache
- dizziness.
- Muscle cramps.
- Hypokalaemia with high doses.
- Paradoxical bronchospasm (rare — discontinue immediately).
Precautions
- Not for long
- term regular use as a controller — use only for symptom relief.
- Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
- arrhythmias
- hypertension
- or hyperthyroidism.
- Hypokalaemia can occur with high doses
- especially with concurrent diuretics or corticosteroids — monitor potassium.
- If relying on frequent reliever use
- seek medical review — asthma may be poorly controlled.
- Avoid concurrent use with non
- selective beta
- blockers.
- Use with caution in pregnancy (only if clearly needed).
