Tobrex 0.3%

Indication

Tobrex Eye Drops 0.3% (Tobramycin) is a topical aminoglycoside antibiotic used for the treatment of external bacterial infections of the eye and its adnexa, including conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and keratoconjunctivitis caused by susceptible organisms.

Ingredients

• Tobramycin 0.3%

Direction

Adults and children: For mild to moderate infection: instil 1–2 drops into the affected eye every 4 hours. For severe infection: instil 2 drops every hour, reducing frequency as improvement occurs. Tilt head back, pull down lower eyelid, and instil drops without touching the dropper tip to the eye.

Side effects

• Local: transient burning or stinging on instillation.
• Eyelid itching or swelling.
• Conjunctival erythema.
• Rare: hypersensitivity reactions.

Precautions

• For ophthalmic use only.
• Avoid contact of dropper tip with eye or any surface to prevent contamination.
• Discard 28 days after opening.
• Prolonged use may lead to overgrowth of non
• susceptible organisms
• including fungi.
• Do not wear contact lenses during treatment.
• Use with caution in patients with known aminoglycoside sensitivity.
