Indication
Centacid suspension is an antacid used for the relief of heartburn, acid indigestion, sour stomach, and gas/bloating associated with these conditions. It neutralises excess stomach acid.
Ingredients
- Aluminum Hydroxide 250 mg per 5 mL
- Magnesium Hydroxide 200 mg per 5 mL
- Simethicone 40 mg per 5 mL
Direction
Adults: 10–20 mL (2–4 teaspoonfuls) twice daily, or as directed by a physician. Shake well before use. Take 1 hour after meals and at bedtime for best results. Children: Use only under medical supervision.
Side effects
- Constipation (aluminium
- related).
- Diarrhoea (magnesium
- related).
- Nausea.
- Chalky taste.
Precautions
- Do not use if you have kidney disease without medical advice.
- Prolonged use may lead to constipation or electrolyte imbalance.
- May interfere with absorption of other medications — take other drugs at least 2 hours apart.
- Consult a doctor if symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks.
- Contains aluminium — avoid prolonged use in patients with renal failure.
- Keep out of reach of children.
