Indication

Risek 20 mg is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and eradication of Helicobacter pylori (in combination with antibiotics).

Ingredients

• Omeprazole 20 mg

Direction

Adults: 20 mg once daily, taken in the morning before breakfast. For H. pylori eradication: 20 mg twice daily in combination with antibiotics as prescribed. Duration depends on the condition being treated — typically 4–8 weeks. Swallow capsule whole; do not crush or chew.

Side effects

• Headache.
• Nausea and vomiting.
• Diarrhoea or constipation.
• Abdominal pain and flatulence.
• Dizziness.
• Hypomagnesaemia with prolonged use (rare).

Precautions

• Not recommended for children without medical supervision.
• Long
• term use may increase risk of bone fractures
• low magnesium
• and vitamin B12 deficiency.
• Consult a doctor before use if you have severe liver disease.
• May mask symptoms of gastric cancer — rule out malignancy before initiating therapy.
• May interact with clopidogrel

• and antiretroviral drugs.
