Indication
Risek 20 mg is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and eradication of Helicobacter pylori (in combination with antibiotics).
Ingredients
- Omeprazole 20 mg
Direction
Adults: 20 mg once daily, taken in the morning before breakfast. For H. pylori eradication: 20 mg twice daily in combination with antibiotics as prescribed. Duration depends on the condition being treated β typically 4β8 weeks. Swallow capsule whole; do not crush or chew.
Side effects
- Headache.
- Nausea and vomiting.
- Diarrhoea or constipation.
- Abdominal pain and flatulence.
- Dizziness.
- Hypomagnesaemia with prolonged use (rare).
Precautions
- Not recommended for children without medical supervision.
- Long
- term use may increase risk of bone fractures
- low magnesium
- and vitamin B12 deficiency.
- Consult a doctor before use if you have severe liver disease.
- May mask symptoms of gastric cancer β rule out malignancy before initiating therapy.
- May interact with clopidogrel
- methotrexate
- and antiretroviral drugs.
- Keep out of reach of children.
