APHAGEL 20g per sachet (12.38g aluminum phosphate gel)

Indication

APHAGEL (aluminum phosphate gel) is an antacid used for the relief of symptoms associated with hyperacidity, including heartburn, acid reflux, gastritis, and peptic ulcer disease. It neutralises gastric acid and forms a protective coating on the gastric mucosa.

Ingredients

• Aluminum phosphate gel 12.38 g per 20 g sachet

Direction

Adults: 1 sachet (20 g) 2–3 times daily, generally 30 minutes after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Squeeze the sachet contents into a glass or take directly. Mix with a little water if desired.

Side effects

• Constipation.
• Nausea.
• Chalky taste.

Precautions

• Not recommended for patients with hypophosphataemia.
• Use with caution in patients with kidney disease.
• May interfere with absorption of other drugs — take other medications at least 2 hours before or after APHAGEL.
• Consult a doctor if symptoms persist beyond 2 weeks.
• Keep out of reach of children.
