Indication
BRIDOXIM-DT 200 mg is a third-generation oral cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis), upper respiratory infections (otitis media, sinusitis, pharyngitis/tonsillitis), urinary tract infections, and uncomplicated skin infections.
Ingredients
- Cefpodoxime proxetil 200 mg (dispersible tablet)
Direction
Adults and children over 12 years: 200 mg every 12 hours (twice daily). Dissolve the dispersible tablet in a small amount of water before taking. Take with food to improve absorption. Complete the full course as prescribed.
Side effects
- Diarrhoea.
- Nausea and vomiting.
- Abdominal pain.
- Headache.
- Skin rash.
- Elevated liver enzymes (rare).
Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to cephalosporins or penicillins.
- Reduce dose in patients with severe renal impairment.
- May cause antibiotic
- associated diarrhoea — consult a doctor if persistent.
- Avoid alcohol during treatment.
- Keep out of reach of children.
