Indication

Amoxicilline CREACIL 500 mg is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, otitis media, pneumonia, bronchitis), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin 500 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 40 kg: 250–500 mg three times daily (every 8 hours) for 5–10 days, or as prescribed. Children under 40 kg: Dose based on body weight (25–50 mg/kg/day in divided doses). Complete the full prescribed course. Can be taken with or without food.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• and diarrhoea.
• Skin rash.
• Headache.
• Vaginal candidiasis (thrush).
• Antibiotic
• associated diarrhoea
• including Clostridioides difficile
• associated colitis (rare).
• Severe allergic reactions including anaphylaxis (rare).

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins.
• Seek immediate medical help if signs of severe allergic reaction (rash
• swelling
• difficulty breathing) occur.
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment — dose adjustment may be needed.
• May reduce effectiveness of oral contraceptives.
• Prolonged use may lead to overgrowth of resistant organisms.
• Keep out of reach of children.
