Antihistamine 10mg

Indication

Cetirizine 10 mg is a second-generation antihistamine used for relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (seasonal and perennial) including sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes, as well as urticaria (hives) and other allergic skin conditions.

Ingredients

• Cetirizine hydrochloride 10 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: 10 mg once daily (1 tablet). Children 6–12 years: 5 mg (half tablet) twice daily or 10 mg once daily. Children 2–6 years: 5 mg once daily (liquid form preferred). Take with or without food.

Side effects

• Drowsiness (less common than first
• generation antihistamines).
• Headache.
• Dry mouth.
• Fatigue.
• Dizziness.
• Nausea (rare).

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment — dose reduction required.
• May cause drowsiness in some patients — caution when driving or operating machinery.
• Do not use if hypersensitive to cetirizine or hydroxyzine.
• Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Alcohol may enhance sedative effects.
• Keep out of reach of children.
