Dominox Liquid Suspension 30ml Domperidone 5mg/5ml, 30ml bottle

Indication

Dominox (Domperidone) oral suspension is a dopamine antagonist and prokinetic agent used for the relief of nausea and vomiting, and symptoms of delayed gastric emptying (fullness, bloating, and regurgitation) in adults and children.

Ingredients

• Domperidone 5 mg per 5 mL oral suspension

Direction

Adults: 10 mg (10 mL) three times daily before meals. Children: 0.25–0.5 mg/kg body weight three times daily before meals, up to a maximum of 2.4 mg/kg/day (not to exceed 80 mg/day). Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Dry mouth.
• Headache.
• Diarrhoea.
• Elevated prolactin levels (galactorrhoea
• menstrual irregularities).
• Extrapyramidal symptoms (rare
• more common in children).
• QT prolongation (rare
• at high doses).

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with prolactin
• secreting pituitary tumours.
• Avoid use in patients with significant liver disease.
• May cause prolongation of QT interval at higher doses — use with caution with other QT
• prolonging drugs.
• Not recommended for long
• term use.
• Consult a doctor before use in neonates or very young infants.
• Keep out of reach of children.
