Indication
Deflux is used for relief of nausea, vomiting, bloating, and discomfort associated with delayed gastric emptying. It acts as a dopamine antagonist to promote gastric motility.
Ingredients
- Domperidone 10 mg
Direction
Adults: 1 tablet (10 mg) up to 3 times daily, taken 15–30 minutes before meals. Do not exceed 30 mg per day. Use for the shortest duration necessary.
Side effects
- Dry mouth
- headache.
- Raised prolactin levels leading to galactorrhoea or gynaecomastia with long
- term use.
- Rare: cardiac arrhythmia
- QT prolongation.
Precautions
- Not recommended for patients with known cardiac conditions or QT prolongation.
- Avoid in patients with prolactin
- secreting pituitary tumour.
- Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver disease.
- Do not exceed recommended dose
- risk of serious cardiac effects with higher doses.
- Keep out of reach of children.
