Indication

Deflux is used for relief of nausea, vomiting, bloating, and discomfort associated with delayed gastric emptying. It acts as a dopamine antagonist to promote gastric motility.

Ingredients

Domperidone 10 mg

Direction

Adults: 1 tablet (10 mg) up to 3 times daily, taken 15–30 minutes before meals. Do not exceed 30 mg per day. Use for the shortest duration necessary.

Side effects

Dry mouth
headache.
Raised prolactin levels leading to galactorrhoea or gynaecomastia with long
term use.
Rare: cardiac arrhythmia
QT prolongation.

Precautions

Not recommended for patients with known cardiac conditions or QT prolongation.
Avoid in patients with prolactin
secreting pituitary tumour.
Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver disease.
Do not exceed recommended dose
risk of serious cardiac effects with higher doses.
Keep out of reach of children.
