Indication

Flucort-N is a combination topical preparation of a corticosteroid (fluocinolone acetonide) and an antibiotic (neomycin) used for inflammatory skin conditions complicated by bacterial infection, such as infected eczema, infected dermatitis, and infected psoriasis.

Ingredients

• Fluocinolone acetonide 0.025%
• Neomycin sulfate 0.5%

Direction

Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2–4 times daily. Use for the shortest duration required, typically not more than 2 weeks. Avoid prolonged use.

Side effects

• Local burning
• itching
• or irritation.
• Skin atrophy with prolonged use.
• Allergic contact dermatitis from neomycin.
• Rare: systemic corticosteroid effects.

Precautions

• Prolonged use may cause skin atrophy
• striae
• and telangiectasia.
• Neomycin may cause contact sensitization.
• Do not apply to the face
• axillae
• or groin unless directed.
• Avoid contact with eyes.
• Not for use in children under 2 years.
• Keep out of reach of children.
