Indication

Prednisolone is a corticosteroid used for the treatment of a wide range of inflammatory, allergic, autoimmune, and other conditions including asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, allergic reactions, and skin conditions.

Ingredients

• Prednisolone 5 mg

Direction

Adults: 5–60 mg daily depending on the condition, taken as a single morning dose or in divided doses with food. Dose should be individualised and gradually tapered when discontinuing. Children: dose based on weight (mg/kg) under physician guidance.

• Osteoporosis and adrenal suppression with long
• term use.
• Increased susceptibility to infections.

Precautions

• Do not stop abruptly after prolonged use
• taper dose under medical supervision.
• Increased susceptibility to infection
• avoid live vaccines during treatment.
• Monitor blood glucose in diabetic patients.
• Use with caution in patients with hypertension
• peptic ulcer
• osteoporosis
• or glaucoma.
• Not recommended for use in pregnancy unless clearly necessary.
• Keep out of reach of children.
