Beprosalic 15g

Indication

Beprosalic is a combination topical corticosteroid and keratolytic used to treat chronic plaque psoriasis, hyperkeratotic eczema, and other scaling dermatoses. Betamethasone reduces inflammation and itching; salicylic acid softens and removes scales (keratolytic effect) to enhance corticosteroid penetration.

Ingredients

• Betamethasone dipropionate 0.05%
• Salicylic acid 3%

Direction

Apply a thin layer to the affected skin area once or twice daily. Gently massage in. Do not apply under occlusive dressings unless directed by a physician. Limit use to 4 weeks without medical review.

Side effects

• Skin atrophy
• striae with prolonged use
• Burning
• itching
• irritation at application site
• Folliculitis
• acneiform eruptions
• Perioral dermatitis
• Systemic corticosteroid effects with extensive or prolonged use (rare)

Precautions

• For external use only — avoid contact with eyes
• mouth
• and open wounds.
• Do not use on the face
• groin
• or axillae unless specifically directed.
• Do not apply under tight occlusive dressings (increases systemic absorption).
• Avoid prolonged use — risk of skin atrophy
• striae
• telangiectasia.
• Do not use in viral skin infections (herpes
• chickenpox)
• fungal or bacterial infections without concurrent antimicrobial therapy.
• Use with caution in children — increased systemic absorption per body surface area.
• Avoid use in pregnancy unless strictly necessary.
• Keep out of reach of children.
