Indication
Treatment of inflammatory skin conditions complicated by or susceptible to bacterial infection, including infected eczema and dermatitis.
Ingredients
- Neomycin sulfate 3
- 500 IU per gram
- Betamethasone valerate 0.1% per gram
Direction
Apply a thin layer to the affected area two to three times daily. Do not cover with an airtight dressing unless directed by a physician.
Side effects
- Skin thinning and atrophy with prolonged use.
- Telangiectasia (dilated blood vessels).
- Contact sensitization to neomycin.
- Risk of systemic corticosteroid effects if applied over large areas.
- Local burning or stinging.
Precautions
- Not for use on the face
- groin
- or underarm areas unless prescribed.
- Avoid use near the eyes.
- Do not use on skin infections caused by viruses or fungi without appropriate therapy.
- Prolonged use may cause skin thinning and striae.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Not recommended for use in children under 2 years without medical supervision.
