Indication

- Bacterial infections - Upper and lower respiratory tract infections - Skin and soft tissue infections - Pertussis (Whooping cough) - Syphilis and Gonorrhea (as alternative) - Prevention of neonatal conjunctivitis

Ingredients

• Erythromycin

Direction

Take orally on an empty stomach, ideally 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food.

Side effects

• Nausea and vomiting
• Abdominal cramps and pain
• Diarrhea
• Loss of appetite
• Transient hearing loss (with high doses)

Precautions

• Known hypersensitivity to macrolide antibiotics
• Existing liver or gallbladder disease
• History of QT interval prolongation
• May aggravate Myasthenia Gravis symptoms
• Potential for serious drug interactions (CYP3A4)
