Indication
Gastric acid reduction, GERD, peptic ulcer
Ingredients
- Esomeprazole Magnesium Trihydrate USP equivalent to Esomeprazole 40mg (enteric
- coated pellets)
Direction
As directed by the physician. Rx Only.
Side effects
- Common: abdominal cramping
- abdominal pain
- diarrhea
- flatulence
- headache
- nausea. Rare: C. difficile infection
- bone fractures (long
- term)
- fundic gland polyps
- hypermagnesemia (renal impairment)
- hypomagnesemia
- vitamin B12 deficiency.
Precautions
- Take before meals. Not for immediate relief of heartburn. Long
- term use may reduce magnesium and calcium absorption — consult doctor for prolonged use. May interact with certain medicines (e.g.
- clopidogrel).
