Fobate-XT Ferrous Ascorbate 100mg / Folic Acid 1.5mg

Indication

Anaemia of pregnancy and lactation, prevention of spina bifida or other neural tube defects in an unborn foetus, helps in iron utilization, prevention of folate and iron deficiency anaemia, anaemia due to chronic haemorrhage, menorrhagia (heavy menstrual iron deficiency)

Ingredients

• Ferrous Ascorbate (eq. to Elemental Iron 100mg)
• Folic Acid B.P. 1.5mg

Side effects

• Common: abdominal pain
• constipation
• dark stools
• generally well tolerated
• nausea. Rare: GI irritation
• allergic reactions
• bloating
• iron overload (chronic)
• may mask vitamin B12 deficiency
• nausea.
