Indication
Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. H. pylori eradication (in combination therapy).
Ingredients
- Esomeprazole 40mg (as Esomeprazole Magnesium)
Direction
Adults: 40mg once daily for 4-8 weeks. Swallow capsule whole, do not crush or chew. Take at least 1 hour before a meal.
Side effects
- Headache
- nausea
- diarrhoea
- abdominal pain
- flatulence
- constipation
- dry mouth
Precautions
- Long
- term use may increase risk of bone fractures
- hypomagnesaemia
- and vitamin B12 deficiency. Not recommended in severe hepatic impairment without dose adjustment. Exclude gastric malignancy before starting treatment.
