Indication
Treatment of serious bacterial infections including community-acquired pneumonia, complicated skin and soft tissue infections, and complicated intra-abdominal infections
Ingredients
- Moxifloxacin 400mg/250ml
Direction
Administer by IV infusion over 60 minutes. Adults: 400mg once daily. Duration depends on infection type (5-21 days). For hospital use only.
Side effects
- Nausea
- diarrhea
- dizziness
- headache. Serious: QT prolongation
- tendon rupture
- peripheral neuropathy
- photosensitivity
- C. difficile colitis
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with known QT prolongation. Risk of tendon rupture
- especially in elderly and those on corticosteroids. Avoid excessive sun exposure. Monitor ECG in at
- risk patients.
