Pulmicort Budesonide 0.5mg/ml respules

Indication

Maintenance treatment and prophylaxis of asthma in adults and children. Control of persistent asthma symptoms.

Ingredients

• Budesonide 0.5mg/ml (Respules)

Direction

Adults: 1-2mg twice daily via jet nebulizer. Children 12 months-8 years: 0.25-0.5mg twice daily. Use only with jet nebulizer, not ultrasonic nebulizer.

Side effects

• Oral candidiasis
• hoarseness
• throat irritation
• cough
• headache. Rarely: growth retardation in children with prolonged use
• adrenal suppression

Precautions

• Rinse mouth and spit after each use to prevent oral candidiasis. Not for acute asthma attacks. Taper dose gradually when discontinuing. Monitor growth in children.
