Indication
Treatment and suppression of herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections; varicella (chickenpox); herpes zoster (shingles)
Ingredients
- Acyclovir 400mg
Direction
HSV treatment: 400mg 3 times daily for 5-10 days. Herpes zoster: 800mg 5 times daily for 7-10 days. Take with plenty of water.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- abdominal pain
- headache
- dizziness
- skin rash
Precautions
- Maintain adequate hydration. Dose adjustment in renal impairment. Use with caution in elderly and dehydrated patients.
