Indication

Parenteral nutrition for patients with hepatic encephalopathy or chronic liver disease requiring amino acid supplementation

Ingredients

Direction

IV infusion only. Dosage individualized by physician based on patient's clinical condition and metabolic needs. Typical rate: 40-60mL/hour.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• flushing
• fever
• injection site reactions
• electrolyte imbalances
• hyperammonaemia

Precautions

• For IV use only under medical supervision. Monitor electrolytes
• liver function
• and acid
• base balance. Contraindicated in anuria and severe liver failure with coma.
