Indication
Treatment of bacterial infections including upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, otitis media, and sexually transmitted infections
Ingredients
- Azithromycin 500mg
Direction
Adults: 500mg once daily for 3 days, or 500mg on day 1 followed by 250mg once daily on days 2-5. Take 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhoea
- abdominal pain
- headache
- dizziness
- skin rash
- elevated liver enzymes
Precautions
- Use with caution in hepatic impairment and QT prolongation. Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to macrolides. May cause Clostridium difficile
- associated diarrhoea.
