Indication
Sterile ophthalmic suspension for eye infections
Direction
Instill 1-2 drops into affected eye(s) every 4-6 hours. Shake well before use.
Side effects
- Increased appetite
- mood changes
- insomnia
- elevated blood sugar.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to tobramycin
- dexamethasone
- or other aminoglycosides.
- Contraindicated in viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva (e.g.
- epithelial herpes simplex keratitis
- vaccinia
- varicella)
- mycobacterial ocular infections
- and fungal diseases of the eye.
- Prolonged use may result in elevated intraocular pressure and glaucoma
- monitor IOP.
- Prolonged use of corticosteroids may cause posterior subcapsular cataracts.
- Use with caution in patients with a history of herpes simplex
- corticosteroids may mask or worsen infections.
- May delay healing of corneal abrasions
- do not use in patients with corneal epithelial defects unless under specialist supervision.
- Bacterial superinfection may occur with prolonged use
- monitor closely.
- Remove contact lenses before use
- wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.
