Indication

Emergency contraceptive

Ingredients

• Levonorgestrel 0.75 mg

Direction

Take one tablet as soon as possible within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.

Side effects

• Nausea
• headache
• fatigue
• breast tenderness
• irregular bleeding.

Precautions

• Not intended for regular contraceptive use
• for emergency use only within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.
• Effectiveness decreases with time — take as soon as possible after unprotected sex.
• Not effective if pregnancy has already occurred.
• Do not use if hypersensitive to levonorgestrel.
• Use with caution in women with severe liver disease
• unexplained vaginal bleeding
• or a history of ectopic pregnancy.
• May interact with certain medicines including rifampicin
• anticonvulsants (e.g. phenytoin
• carbamazepine)
• and HIV medicines — consult a doctor.
• Seek medical attention if severe abdominal pain occurs after use (possible ectopic pregnancy).
• Not suitable as a substitute for regular contraception.
