Indication
Productive cough, cough due to bronchitis or emphysema
Ingredients
- Bromhexine HCl 4mg
- Guaiphenesin 100mg
- Ethanol 6% v/v (per 5ml teaspoonful)
Direction
Adults and children >12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls (10ml) 3 times a day. Children 6-12 years: 1 teaspoonful (5ml) 3 times a day. Shake well before use.
Side effects
- Occasional GI disturbance. Rare effects are allergic skin rashes and vomiting.
Precautions
- Special precaution is needed in GI ulceration. Guaiphenesin may give false positive result of urinary 5
- hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5
- HIAA) and vanillylmandelic acid (VMA).
