Indication

Neuropathic pain, epilepsy, generalized anxiety disorder

Ingredients

• Pregabalin 75mg

Direction

Take 75mg twice daily. May increase to 300mg/day after one week. Taper when stopping.

Side effects

• Drowsiness
• dizziness
• weight gain
• peripheral edema
• dry mouth.

Precautions

• Do not use if hypersensitive to pregabalin or any excipient.
• May cause dizziness and somnolence — do not drive or operate heavy machinery until effects are known.
• Abrupt discontinuation may cause withdrawal symptoms (insomnia
• nausea
• headache
• anxiety) — taper dose gradually under medical supervision.
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment — dose reduction required.
• May cause peripheral oedema and weight gain — use with caution in patients with heart failure.
• Concomitant use with CNS depressants (including opioids
• benzodiazepines
• alcohol) increases risk of respiratory depression and CNS depression.
• Has been associated with misuse and dependence — use with caution in patients with a history of substance abuse.
• Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy — may harm the foetus.
• Suicidal thoughts and behaviour have been reported — monitor closely.
• Keep out of reach of children.
