Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients currently taking nitrates (e.g.
• glyceryl trinitrate
• isosorbide mononitrate) or nitric oxide donors in any form — risk of severe
• potentially fatal hypotension.
• Contraindicated in patients taking riociguat or other guanylate cyclase stimulators.
• Contraindicated in patients who have been advised to refrain from sexual activity due to cardiovascular risk.
• Contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
• recent stroke or myocardial infarction (within 6 months)
• resting hypotension (BP <90/50 mmHg)
• or uncontrolled hypertension.
• Use with caution in patients with anatomical penile deformity (e.g.
• Peyronie's disease) or conditions predisposing to priapism (sickle
• cell anaemia
• multiple myeloma
• leukaemia).
• Seek immediate medical attention if an erection lasts more than 4 hours (priapism).
• May cause sudden loss of vision due to non
• arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION)
• discontinue and seek medical attention if sudden vision loss occurs.
• Sudden decrease or loss of hearing has been reported
• discontinue if hearing loss occurs.
• Potentiates the hypotensive effect of alpha
• blockers
• use with caution and start at the lowest dose.
• Not intended for use in women or children.
• Keep out of reach of children.
