Indication
Symptomatic treatment of dry and irritating cough in adults.
Ingredients
- Codeine phosphate hemihydrate 19.5 mg per coated tablet
Direction
Take by mouth preferably when the cough occurs, spacing doses by at least 6 hours. Usual adult dose: 1 to 2 tablets, 1 to 4 times daily.
Side effects
- Constipation
- Drowsiness
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Dizziness
- Rarely bronchospasm
- allergic skin reaction
- or slowed breathing
Precautions
- Not suitable for productive or wet cough
- Avoid alcohol and other sedating medicines unless advised by a clinician
- Use cautiously because codeine may cause respiratory depression and dependence
- Not for children under 12 years old
- Contraindicated during breastfeeding
