Loratyn-10 10 mg

Indication

For relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, nasal discharge and itching, and ocular itching and burning. Also indicated for relief of symptoms and signs of chronic urticaria and other allergic dermatological disorders.

Ingredients

• Loratadine 10 mg

Direction

Route of administration is oral. Usual adult and adolescent dose: 10 mg once daily. Usual geriatric dose: 10 mg once daily. In severe liver impairment, an initial dose of 5 mg once daily or 10 mg on alternate days is recommended.

Side effects

• Fatigue
• Nausea
• Headache
• Rare spontaneous adverse events include alopecia
• anaphylaxis
• and abnormal hepatic function

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment as loratadine clearance may be reduced
• Patients sensitive to one antihistamine may be sensitive to others
• Use caution with drugs that inhibit hepatic metabolism such as ketoconazole
