Indication

Clamoxyl 250mg is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and otitis media caused by susceptible organisms.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin (as trihydrate) 250 mg

Direction

Adults: 1 to 2 sachets (250–500 mg) three times daily. Children: dose according to body weight as directed by physician. Each sachet should be dissolved in water before use. Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhea
• Skin rash or urticaria
• Hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis (rare)
• Pseudomembranous colitis with prolonged use

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics
• Inform your doctor of any known drug allergies before use
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment
• Keep out of reach of children
• Complete the prescribed course
• do not stop early even if symptoms improve
