Indication
Treatment of bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, sexually transmitted diseases (chlamydia, gonorrhea), Lyme disease, malaria prophylaxis, and other susceptible bacterial infections.
Ingredients
- Doxycycline (as hyclate) 100 mg
Direction
Adults: 1 capsule twice daily or 2 capsules once daily. Take with or after food with plenty of water. Avoid lying down for 30 minutes after taking. Complete the full prescribed course.
Side effects
- Nausea and vomiting
- Photosensitivity (increased sensitivity to sunlight)
- Esophageal irritation if not taken with enough water
- Diarrhea
- Skin rash
Precautions
- Avoid prolonged sun exposure during treatment
- Not recommended in children under 8 years due to tooth discoloration
- Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Take with plenty of water
- remain upright for 30 minutes after dose
- Keep out of reach of children
