Fobancort Cream 15g

Indication

Fobancort Cream is used for the topical treatment of inflammatory dermatoses where bacterial infection is present or likely to occur. It combines an antibacterial agent (fusidic acid) with a corticosteroid (betamethasone) to treat infected skin conditions such as eczema, impetigo, and infected dermatitis.

Ingredients

• Fusidic Acid 2.0% w/w
• Betamethasone Dipropionate 0.064% w/w (equivalent to Betamethasone 0.05%)
• Propyl Paraben 0.01% w/w

Direction

Apply a small amount of Fobancort Cream to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily. Rub in gently. The duration of treatment should be limited. Avoid prolonged use on the face or in skin folds. Refer to the enclosed leaflet for full instructions.

Side effects

• Skin irritation
• burning or stinging at application site
• Skin thinning (atrophy) with prolonged use
• Stretch marks (striae)
• Perioral dermatitis
• Allergic contact dermatitis
• Secondary infection

Precautions

• For external use only
• Avoid contact with eyes
• Do not use on open wounds or damaged skin
• Do not use under occlusive dressings unless directed by a doctor
• Avoid prolonged use

• Keep out of reach of children
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
