Glucophage 850mg 850 mg

Indication

Glucophage 850mg is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients, when diet and exercise alone does not provide adequate glycaemic control. It may be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents or insulin.

Ingredients

• Metformin hydrochloride 850 mg

Direction

Take orally as directed by your physician. Swallow tablets whole with a meal to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. The dose is individualized based on blood glucose monitoring. Do not exceed the maximum recommended dose.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhea
• and abdominal pain (especially at start of treatment)
• Metallic taste in mouth
• Decreased appetite
• Lactic acidosis (rare but serious — seek immediate medical attention)
• Vitamin B12 deficiency with long
• term use

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with renal impairment (eGFR below 30 mL/min/1.73m²)
• Discontinue before procedures involving iodinated contrast media
• Do not use in patients with hepatic impairment
• Do not use in patients with acute or chronic metabolic acidosis
• Do not use in patients with type 1 diabetes
• Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Keep out of reach of children
