Indication

Lipid regulating agent. Treatment of hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. Reduces elevated total cholesterol, LDL-C, triglycerides. Used in prevention of cardiovascular events.

Ingredients

• Atorvastatin 20 mg

Direction

Take as directed by physician. Usually one tablet daily. Can be taken at any time of day with or without food.

Side effects

• Muscle pain or weakness (myopathy)
• Liver enzyme elevation
• Headache
• Nausea
• Abdominal pain
• Rarely rhabdomyolysis

Precautions

• Monitor liver function tests
• Report any unexplained muscle pain immediately
• Avoid grapefruit juice
• Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Keep out of reach of children
• Prescription only medicine
