Indication

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients, when diet and exercise alone are insufficient. Also used as first-line treatment in combination with other antidiabetic agents.

Ingredients

• Metformin hydrochloride 500 mg

Direction

Take orally as directed by physician. Oral use. Contains lactose. Please read instructions for use carefully. Dosage according to physician advice. Store below 30°C.

Side effects

• Nausea and vomiting (especially when starting treatment)
• Diarrhea
• Abdominal pain
• Loss of appetite
• Metallic taste
• Rare: lactic acidosis

Precautions

• Prescription only medicine
• Contraindicated in renal impairment (eGFR <30 mL/min)
• Contains lactose
• Store in original packaging to protect from light
• Do not use after expiry date
• Keep out of sight and reach of children
