Indication

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and chronic stable angina pectoris. Also used in vasospastic angina. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine besylate equivalent to Amlodipine 5 mg

Direction

As directed by physician. Usually 1 tablet once daily. Take at the same time each day. May be taken with or without food.

Side effects

• Peripheral oedema (ankle swelling)
• Flushing
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Palpitations
• Fatigue

Precautions

• Prescription only medicine
• Do not stop taking without medical advice
• Use with caution in liver impairment
• May cause hypotension — monitor blood pressure
• Keep out of reach of children
