Indication

Bronchodilator for asthma and COPD, CFC-free pressurised inhalation

Ingredients

• Salbutamol 100mcg

Direction

Inhalation use only. Adults and children 4 years and over: 1–2 puffs (100–200 mcg) as needed for relief of bronchospasm, or 15–30 minutes before exercise to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm. Shake well before use. Maximum 4 puffs in 24 hours unless directed by a physician. Children under 4 years: use under medical supervision. If no relief after 2 puffs, seek immediate medical attention.

Side effects

• Tremor (fine tremor of hands) — common.
• Palpitations and tachycardia.
• Headache.
• Muscle cramps.
• Hypokalaemia with high doses.
• Paradoxical bronchospasm (rare).
• Throat irritation.

Precautions

• Not for use as the sole or first
• line treatment for persistent asthma without an inhaled corticosteroid.
• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to salbutamol or any excipient.
• Use with caution in patients with hyperthyroidism
