Indication
Bronchodilator for asthma and COPD
Ingredients
- Salbutamol 100mcg
Direction
Adults and children 4 years and over: 1β2 puffs (100β200 mcg) as needed for relief of acute bronchospasm, or 15β30 minutes before exercise. Maximum 8 puffs in 24 hours. Shake well before each use. Rinse mouth after use. Seek medical advice if rescue use exceeds 3 times per week.
Side effects
- Common: tremor
- palpitations
- headache.
- Tachycardia and feeling of nervousness.
- Paradoxical bronchospasm (rare β discontinue immediately).
- Hypokalaemia with high doses.
- Throat irritation.
Precautions
- Not a substitute for inhaled corticosteroids in persistent asthma.
- Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders
- hyperthyroidism
- or diabetes.
- Excessive use can be dangerous
- do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Inform doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Canister is pressurised β do not pierce or burn even when empty.
