Indication
- Prevention and treatment of vitamin B deficiency - Support during pre- and post-operative periods, fever or increased metabolic demand - Deficiency from poor intake or malabsorption (e.g. gastrointestinal disorders, alcoholism) - Adjunct in prolonged or wasting illness
Ingredients
- Vitamin B complex (B vitamins)
- 2 mL/ampoule
Direction
Administered by a healthcare professional via intramuscular or slow intravenous injection; dose adjusted to the patient's condition. A test dose may be advised in patients suspected of hypersensitivity.
Side effects
- Pain or irritation at the injection site
- Hypersensitivity or allergic reactions
- Flushing or warmth
- Nausea
Precautions
- Risk of hypersensitivity/anaphylactic reactions with parenteral administration
- especially thiamine
- Use with caution in patients with known allergy to B vitamins
- Administer slowly when given intravenously
