Vometa Domperidone Suspension 5mg 5mg/5ml

Indication

Anti-nausea and vomiting, promotes gastric motility

Ingredients

• Domperidone 5mg

Direction

Children 1–3 years: 2.5 ml (2.5 mg) three times daily. Children 4–12 years: 5 ml (5 mg) three times daily. Adults: 10 ml (10 mg) three times daily, 15–30 minutes before meals. Shake well before use. Duration of treatment generally should not exceed 4 weeks.

Side effects

• Rare: dry mouth
• headache
• diarrhoea.
• Raised prolactin levels: galactorrhoea
• gynaecomastia.
• Very rare: extrapyramidal reactions (especially in young children).
• Rare: QT interval prolongation and ventricular arrhythmias.

Precautions

• Not recommended in patients with known hypersensitivity to domperidone.
• Avoid in patients with prolactin
• releasing pituitary tumour (prolactinoma).
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
• QT prolongation risk: avoid co
• administration with QT
• prolonging drugs or strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g.
• ketoconazole
• erythromycin
• amiodarone).
• Not recommended for chronic use
• not for routine prophylactic use.
• Keep out of reach of children.
