Indication
- Nausea and vomiting of various causes - Dyspepsia with delayed gastric emptying - Esophageal reflux and esophagitis - Feeling of fullness, epigastric bloating
Ingredients
- Domperidone 5 mg/5 mL
Direction
Adults: 10-20 mg (2-4 mL) three to four times daily before meals. Children: 0.25-0.5 mg/kg three to four times daily before meals. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
Side effects
- Dry mouth
- Headache
- Abdominal cramps
- Rarely
- cardiac rhythm disturbances (QT prolongation)
- Hyperprolactinemia (breast tenderness
- galactorrhea)
Precautions
- Avoid in patients with cardiac arrhythmia or significant electrolyte disturbances (risk of QT prolongation)
- Use with caution in moderate to severe hepatic impairment
- Caution with drugs that prolong the QT interval or are CYP3A4 inhibitors
- Not recommended for routine prevention of postoperative nausea long
- term
