Indication

Antiparasitic for treatment of intestinal worms and parasitic infections

Ingredients

• Albendazole 400mg + Ivermectin 6mg

Direction

Adults and children over 15 years: 1 tablet (Albendazole 400 mg + Ivermectin 6 mg) as a single oral dose, with or after a meal. May be repeated after 3 months if re-infection is suspected. Take with water. Do not crush or chew. Use as directed by a physician.

Side effects

• Albendazole: nausea
• abdominal pain
• dizziness
• reversible elevated liver enzymes
• alopecia (with prolonged use).
• Ivermectin: mild pruritus
• skin rash
• headache
• dizziness.
• Mazzotti
• like reactions (fever
• itching
• oedema) in heavily infected individuals.
• Rare: neutropenia
• hepatotoxicity.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to albendazole
• ivermectin
• or benzimidazoles.
• Contraindicated in pregnancy (albendazole is teratogenic)
• use effective contraception during and for 1 month after treatment.
• Not recommended for children under 15 years or weighing less than 15 kg without medical supervision.
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
• Ivermectin: Mazzotti reaction may occur in patients with onchocerciasis (fever
• rash
• hypotension).
• Avoid use in patients with blood
• brain barrier dysfunction.
• Keep out of reach of children.
