Indication

Antiparasitic for treatment of intestinal worms. Each package is one dose (2 tablets).

Ingredients

• Albendazole 200mg

Direction

Adults and children over 2 years: 400 mg (two 200 mg tablets) as a single dose for common intestinal worms (roundworm, hookworm, whipworm, pinworm). For hydatid disease and neurocysticercosis: 400 mg twice daily for 28 days, repeated after a 14-day break, as directed by a physician. Take with or after a fatty meal to enhance absorption.

Side effects

• Common (with prolonged therapy): nausea
• abdominal pain
• elevated liver enzymes.
• Uncommon: dizziness
• headache
• reversible alopecia.
• Rare: bone marrow suppression (neutropenia
• agranulocytosis).
• Rare: severe hepatotoxicity.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to albendazole or benzimidazoles.
• Contraindicated in pregnancy
• women of childbearing age should take treatment after a negative pregnancy test and use contraception during and for 1 month after treatment.
• Not recommended for children under 1 year.
• Monitor liver function and blood counts for prolonged treatment courses.
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic disease.
• Keep out of reach of children.
