Cotrim PPM Suspension 200mg Sulfamethoxazole 200mg + Trimethoprim 40mg per 5ml

Indication

- Urinary tract infections - Respiratory tract infections including bronchitis - Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (treatment and prevention) - Certain gastrointestinal infections

Ingredients

• Sulfamethoxazole 200 mg + Trimethoprim 40 mg per 5 mL

Direction

Take orally with food and plenty of fluids; dose based on age, weight and infection, usually twice daily, as directed by a physician.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting and diarrhea
• Skin rash and itching
• Loss of appetite
• Rarely severe skin reactions or blood disorders

Precautions

• Contraindicated in sulfonamide allergy and severe liver or kidney impairment
• Avoid in infants under 6 weeks of age
• Maintain adequate fluid intake
• monitor blood counts on prolonged use
• Use with caution in pregnancy and breastfeeding
