Indication
- Acute otitis media - Pharyngitis and tonsillitis - Acute bronchitis and other respiratory infections - Uncomplicated urinary tract infections - Uncomplicated gonorrhea
Ingredients
- Cefixime 100 mg/5 mL
Direction
Shake well before use. The usual pediatric dose is 8 mg/kg/day given once daily or divided every 12 hours. Use the measuring spoon or cup provided and complete the full course as prescribed.
Side effects
- Diarrhea
- Nausea and abdominal pain
- Indigestion or heartburn
- Skin rash
- Dizziness or headache
Precautions
- Do not use in patients with known cephalosporin allergy
- caution if penicillin
- allergic
- Inform your doctor of any kidney problems
- as dose may need adjustment
- Tell your doctor if severe or persistent diarrhea develops during or after treatment
- Complete the full course even if symptoms improve
